Beijing, China (CNN) -- Sixteen people are missing in eastern China after a fishing boat capsized early Saturday morning, according to state media.
Local authorities say two people were rescued, according to the Xinhua news agency. They were able to jump into the water before the vessel went down. They later were pulled from the water by an East China Sea Salvage Bureau ship.
The boat, which is registered in Zhejiang, overturned at the mouth of the Yangtze River in stormy seas.
Efforts to locate the missing are still underway.
